What Do I Wear?! - How to Dress Quickly and Stylishly

Like many things in my life, I leave everything to last minute. That usually means I've missed the next-day-delivery slot times and I end up running around my room looking for an outfit like a mad cat lady that's lost her cats - and her marbles. As this has been a usual occurrence, I've decided to share with you my tips 'n' tricks when it comes to quick outfit planning.

  1. Start with accessories. Many people leave jewellery/hats/scarfs etc to the end as a finishing touch. You'll find if you flip that tip around and begin with these it can make outfit planning a lot quicker. Silver or gold? Hat or no hat? Pearls or Studs? Chances are if you decide you're in the mood for hoops, lots of rings, a concho belt and a fedora, then a grungy tee and ripped jeans would go well; boom! You've got yourself an outfit.

  2. Flats or heels? I always leave shoes to last minute then end up being late because if you're anything like me and have a gazzilion and one pairs of shoes then it can be tricky picking. If it's a fancy event and you know you'll need to wear heels, then decide what are your go to pair? Your comfiest pair? It's a nightmare getting all ready with shoes in mind only to find they are excruciatingly painful to walk in or are just to high to cope with - trust me I have many pairs I like to think of as 'Art Shoes' as they sit there gathering dust like fancy paintings. Once you have shoes picked then you can decide on a bag and with that in mind you will have some sort of colour palette to work with. (Secret tip: always keep your toes in tip top condition, so you don't have to do any last minute file and polish!)

  3. #BONUS TIP. Purchase a comfy pair of nude heels and a nude bag. When you are truly in a rush and don't even have the time to decide, these will be life savers.

  4. Inspo Pics. If you have a killer outfit combo, make sure you get a full length picture and save it to an album on your phone or laptop that you can refer to later when you need some inspiration. Whoever said you can't wear the same outfit twice obviously hasn't spent their life as a skint student that willingly spends £20 on shots but won't pay £2.50 for a new pack of socks.

  5. As for a fifth tip, all I can say is it's all up to you now! I can't choose your clothes for you so I'll just need to trust that your inner fashionista will do a good job and you'll look amazing - which I'm sure you will!

Have fun!

Much Love, Katie x
