What's in my Uni bag?
For the bloggers out there that religiously post and have thousands of followers because of this, I salute you. The creativity each week of trying to come up with a different post idea doesn't always happen and it is difficult to be original nowadays because chances are, someone out there will have already made a post about it.
So I'm taking a little inspiration from the blogosphere and taking a page out of all of those 'fashion guru's books.
Today I present to you, what's in my uni bag? A mystical, unanswered question pondered by every great scientist out there... okay maybe not.
For students, a decent bag is a must. Gone are the days of stylish Pauls Boutique bags that you'd beg your mum for in primary school. In are big strappy backpacks and 'practicality'.
I opted for this Fred Perry bag instead.

It has two different compartments as well as a zip inside the main section, and can cleverly be transformed into a backpack by pulling the back strap down to create two 'backpack' straps. Which means a heavy load of books can be easily transferable from the shoulder to the back.
The basics: headphones drown out noise, whether it be in the library or on the train - and you're gonna need that phone charger to make sure your source of music is sustained. Gum is also a good idea if you're an avid coffee drinker like myself and make sure you keep some paracetamol handy for those days when a splitting headache is the last thing you need.
The non-essential essentials: a good book can really take your mind off that mountain of uni work that's all due in on the same week. I go through about two or three books a month as it passes the time on the train journeys to and fro. Lipsticks are just always in my bag, along with receipts and bobby pins - I think its a girl thing.
The must haves: if you weren't already aware Scotland is rainy. It is wet here all the time, so an umbrella is highly desirable. Don't be caught out! A favourite pick me up snack of mine is popcorn, preferably salty-sweet. In order to buy the good stuff, I of course need money ergo my purse comes with me everywhere. Inside there is every kind of student card imaginable, along with my ID for those 'memorable' nights out. I also keep my monthly train ticket handy as I use it every day and my holder keeps my matriculation card safe too.
(If you're feeling matchy-matchy you could even upgrade to this card holder to match the bag)
Finally, to conclude this post and to answer that question you've been thinking throughout, I take all my notes on my laptop so that explains the lack of notebooks and pens. It's the 21st century people, get with it!
Much love, Katie.
